Read this, you guys. A Valentine’s day tribute : the story of Ian Murphy, his traumatic brain injury, and the faithful ministry of his girlfriend, Larissa Whiteley. I cried when i read this, it’s so touching her devotion to God and Ian.
This would be the shoe that Ikea would create if they made shoes : The Flat packed shoe!
Can’t sleep again. Always happens the day before class. Oh well. Life goes on, i’ll just catch up on sleep later in the afternoon. Anyway, rather than waste my time rolling around in bed, i’ve decided to blog. (Obviously). I’ve been looking for Christian dance songs, since AFC is sort of wearing out Out of Eden, Yolanda Adams, Carman, Hillsong and such. Haha, one or two songs from the same artiste is enough, me thinks. But until i find new songs, we’re gonna wear out these until they’re dead.
Yahoo Launch is pretty cool. I don’t use it much now, but i used to use it alot when i was younger. So when i logged in there recently, it was a nice surprise to see all the 1990s songs i used to listen to all the time but just phased out now, like All Saints, Spice Girls etc. Pretty amusing to see all your old songs of choice and see how far exactly you’ve come since those days.
I’m so disgusted. The poor girls. I quote,
Predictably, it’s a self-perpetuating trend: there are few curvy models, because the designers don’t make clothes that fit them. It’s why Behati Prinsloo, the white model from Namibia who measures in at 32-24-35, ended up being called a fat pig by a stylist; why Lily Cole, at 34-25-35, is often considered too big; and why Lily Donaldson was rumoured to be in competition with another model as to who could eat the least. Girls quickly learn to believe that losing weight pays, and there is no end of stories about girls being told to lose weight by their agents. “One model was made to have a breast reduction,” says Olly Paton, a stylist’s assistant. “The agency must have taken her to a really dodgy place, because the scarring was so bad. But she said she preferred that to being turned away from jobs.”
Can you honestly tell me that you are not disgusted as well? You jolly well should be.
Heels : So it started with men, and now men are taking it off? The first is from Antonio Berardi, and the second - the reverse heel - from Marc Jacobs. Walking in these sure can’t be easy. All the pressure on the toes must be excrutiating. Here’s an interesting quote :
It is very practical in the sense that designers are constantly searching for new ideas and ways to present “fashion”. These particular shoes oppose the laws of physics and seem to require some effort on the wearer’s part to keep these things on but as far as fashion goes, and really what fashion stands for, Marc Jacobs has done it again. Innovation comes first. The minute the designer considers comfort over design, the art in it is lost.
Well, okay. Sure, why not, for innovation’s sake. I wonder how well these will do. I have no doubt there will be shoe or brand maniacs who will purchase these monstrosities. The MJ pair start at £270, by the way.
Just received some pictures from Bootcamp, and memories. Sigh. They’re not all good, mind you. I remember so many things, especially if strong emotions are attached to it. Anyway, these are the happier moments, with my family group.
While i was in church, i laid myself down on one of the benches to look at the sky, the trees and clouds. I saw these lights shining through the leaves and branches of the tree above me. I accidentally took the first picture and i thought it was sooooo cool. So i took more.

Pics : Eliana and Luisel Ramos, Ana Carolina Reston
They’ve done it again. This time, nobody died - thank goodness- but casting directors for runway shows in Paris have sent model Ali Michael home over five pounds - the complete article from The Wall Street Journal. Looks like the fashion scene still has yet to learn from the deaths of Luisel Ramos and her sister Eliana Ramos. Luisel Ramos literally walked off the runway to her death, although she is well remembered for "reaching the elusive size zero". I hope that’s not what’s written on her tombstone. It is so sad. Ana Carolina Reston, another dead model, was said to have a BMI of about 13.4, below the index value of 16 which the World Health Organization considers to be starvation. These girls were only 18, 21 and 22 when they died.
Well, the only people who really have the power to make a stand against this, are the fashion designers. Instead of making the bodies fit the clothes, make the clothes fit the body!
